A Baker’s Dozen French Wines, two magnums [1.5L] Geantet-Pansiot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2005, one magnum [1.5L] M. Chapoutier Domaine de Bila-Haut Occultum Lapidem 2010, and two bottles [750mL] each:

  • Dominique Laurent Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Lavaut St-Jacques 1996
  • E. Guigal Hermitage 1990
  • Louis Jadot Corton-Pougets Grand Cru 1997
  • Château Climens Sauterne-Barsac 1988
  • Château d’Yquem Sauterne 1975

When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can match it in terms of quality and diversity. Starting with the magnums, the Geantet-Pansiot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2005, rated 94 by Robert Parker, “delivers a lovely meld of bright cherry, beef marrow, cocoa powder, and chalk. A typically sleek, polished, long-lined performance for this appellation at its best, this isn’t a wine with lots of nooks and crannies. There is a superb sweetness and clarity of finishing fruit along with a vibrant if hard-to-describe mineral note.”

Robert Parker calls M. Chapoutier “one of the most fascinating and compelling personalities in the entire wine world, and one dedicated to the highest quality.” He has ranked other vintages of the Domaine de Bila-Haut Occultum Lapidem 2010 95-97 points. International Wine Report gives it 90 points and says, “It offers up notes of raspberry, sweet plum, garrigue, cloves, pepper, and some forest floor. The tannins are ultra-silky and glide effortlessly across your palate. Finishes up soft, caressing, and long with no hard edges. Composed of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan.”

The Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Lavaut St-Jacques 1996 received a rating of 92-94 from Stephen Tanzer. “Pure, soil-inflected aromas of black fruits, smoke, and game. Like liquid silk on the palate, but pure and bright, with an almost painful intensity and grip. Again, this is quite unevolved and built to age. Wonderfully rich.“ The winery recommends pairing it with Foie gras bruschetta and fig jam or chicken with black mushrooms.

Wine Spectator rated the E. Guigal 1990 Hermitage 93 points and describes it as having “Beautiful aromas of raspberry and cedar follow through on the lush, full palate. It’s intense and well crafted, with a long, rich finish.” With a rating of 90 points, Robert Parker says, “Although variable from bottle to bottle, this wine can be Guigal’s best recent red Hermitage. Marcel Guigal believes it is the finest Hermitage made at this firm since 1955.”

Maison Louis Jadot is considered one of the most prestigious vignons in Burgundy. The Corton-Pougets Grand Cru 1997 is from the Beaune vineyard, the first vineyard purchased by M. Jadot in 1859. Wine Advocate rates it 89-91 points. Stephen Tanzer gives it 93 points. “Fresh medium red with a hint of amber. Less open on the nose than the ’99, offering scents of plum and leather. Drinking Window: 2019 – 2035”

And now, dessert! The Château Climens Sauterne-Barsac is made from Sémillon grapes and has notes of honey, ginger, and stone. It earns 96 points from Wine Advocate, 94 points from Vinous, and 92 from Wine Spectator. Robert Parker says “The 1988 reveals layer upon layer of honeyed pineapple-and orange-scented and -flavored fruit, vibrant acidity, high levels of botrytis, and a fabulously long, yet well-focused finish. It is a great wine.

And the star of the show — Château d’Yquem. Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States and a Bordeaux wine lover, was passionate about Chateau d’Yquem. It is a rare wine, with a yield limited to one glass per vine. And it claims the title of the most expensive bottle of white wine ever sold. In July of 2011, the former sommelier of the top Parisian restaurant La Tour d’Argent paid $117,000 for a bottle of Yquem dating from 1811. Yquem has been made since the 1500s.

The complexity of Château d’Yquem is mainly due to the incredible balance between sweetness and acidity, a combination that is also responsible for the enormous aging potential of this wine. “A wine that has reached its peak, the 1975 d’Yquem offers up a candied bouquet with aromas of quince, apricot, saffron, orange peel, curry, and incense, complemented by a medium-bodied, balanced, and tense palate with a concentrated core of fruit but slightly phenolic currently, concluding with a long, beeswax-inflected finish.” — Robert Parker.

Jeroboam [3L] Rudd Oakville Estate 2012 Red, PLUS; A Rudd Oakville Estate visit for six guests.

The 2012 Rudd Oakville Estate Red was a return not only to classic ripeness and quality but also to a generous vintage in terms of quantity.  Blending was a joy, with many excellent lots to choose from in crafting this final wine. The 2012 was a vintage that merited extensive use of barrel fermentation-better integrating tannin structure, wood notes, and gently extracting color and flavor throughout the fermentation process.

Dark color with violet aspect at the center suggests concentrated freshness, while the nose immediately offers both floral (violet) and fruit (blackberries and cherries) notes.  The 2012 Rudd Oakville Estate Red presents a balanced texture of integrated acid with soft, fleshy tannins. Persistence and freshness are remarkable for the wine’s density and ripe aromatics. With aeration, cedar, and dry rosemary aromatics become more evident, balanced by floral and fruit notes.  A refined, fresh finish is accompanied by a suggestion of warm tobacco smoke and cocoa powder.

The 2012 Rudd Oakville Estate Red was rated 94-96 points by Robert Parker, saying that it should be kept for 20-25 years. It was rated 94 points by Vinous and 92 points by Wine Spectator.

A visit to Rudd Estate starts in the vineyards sharing their winegrowing philosophy with a focus on organic and biodynamic in-house farming practices. After meandering through the beautiful and extensive gardens, guests will see Rudd’s state-of-the art workshop designed as a continuation of the winegrowing operations in the vineyard, complete with a barrel fermentation room, custom stainless steel fermentation vessels, and their hand-made concrete tanks.

Finally, guests will journey to a secluded part of the estate for an outdoor tasting either in the boathouse overlooking the lake, on our terrace overlooking the vineyard, or in the Olive Grove, surrounded by California-inspired gardens—a personal retreat with serene settings that share the family’s vision that a true estate should encompass more than vineyards.

Samantha Rudd was L’Amour du Vin’s guest vintner in 2012, sharing her family’s estate-grown wines.  She worked alongside her father, Leslie Rudd, for two decades, learning lessons instilled by him and the most important one of uncompromising dedication to excellence that guides her in leading the winery today.

A date for the visit and wine tasting must be scheduled in advance with Rudd Estate; closed on Sundays and all major holidays.

A private VIP tour of the winery will be followed by a seated tasting of BRAND’s prestigious current releases and library wines. A delicious lunch prepared exclusively for your group completes this very special experience.

From its stunning 110-acre property on Pritchard Hill overlooking Oakville, Brand Napa Valley has cultivated three distinct estate vineyards ranging from 1,200-1,400 feet in elevation. A total of 17 individual vineyard blocks are curated to 13 different rootstock and clonal combinations of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The low-yielding vines are farmed to express the power and beauty of this distinctive hillside property crafted by Director of Winemaking Philippe Melka, who has been involved since the winery’s inception, and Winemaker Matt Johnson.

For the lucky winner and 5 of your closest friends, enjoy breathtaking views and an elite experience at BRAND in St. Helena hosted by owners Jim Bean and Christine O’Sullivan. The husband-and-wife team are long-time Napa grape growers, former Apple executives, and great friends to LDV and many of our patrons. Christine is hands down one of the most hospitable, charming, and interesting people you’ll ever meet. Fine wine is rooted in terroir, of course, but the people are what makes a winery experience truly special, and she and Jim are the ultimate hosts with incredibly special wines to share.

As if a VIP lunch with library wine pairings wasn’t special enough, Jim and Christine have also included three magnums for you to take home now!

Their flagship wine, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, reflects the power, opulence, and finesse of the uppermost Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards located at 1400 feet elevation atop Pritchard Hill. Rich notes of allspice, graphite, and blackberry precede the lush and vivid palate with its delicious flavors of fresh cherry, sage, and cocoa powder. The wine’s vibrancy and precision build to a lasting finish. The wine is expressive, especially decanted while young, and will add enticing nuances with aging of 5-10 years. Robert Parker awards it a stellar 96 rating, noting its concentrated yet vibrant character, with the potential for complexity to develop over the next two decades or more.

The 2019 BRAND Proprietary Blend combines the finest Cabernet Franc with selected barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon to enhance its finesse and energy. Comprising 62% Cabernet Franc and 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers aromatic notes of black raspberry, dried roses, and allspice, leading to a palate rich with flavors of dark berries, milk chocolate, and sandalwood. With its structure and density, the wine supports extended aging while maintaining a graceful and silky texture for enjoyable consumption in its youth. Awarded 96 points by Robert Parker, he describes it as a blend sourced from 1,300 feet above sea level on Pritchard Hill, boasting scents of violets, cassis, purple raspberries, and mocha. Full-bodied and richly textured, it exhibits a brighter and fresher taste compared to the previous vintage, with added energy on the palate and a long, softly dusty finish.

The 2021 BRAND White Wine represents a harmonious fusion of carefully selected Italian grape varietals sourced from both our estate vineyards and other elusive vineyard sites. Delicately crafted to perfection, this wine captivates the senses with its vibrant bouquet, characterized by citrus and tropical aromas that dance gracefully upon the nose. Upon the palate, it unveils a symphony of fresh flavors, where zesty citrus notes intertwine with exotic tropical fruits, creating a delightful sensation of balance and elegance. Its inviting nature and refined character make it a truly enchanting wine, sure to elevate any occasion with its charm and sophistication.

The date is to be mutually agreed upon in advance and fulfilled within one year of purchase, The expiration date is March 2, 2025.

6 bottles [750mL] of famed Sine Qua Non wines. 3 Vintages of their signature Grenache and Syrah – a very rare opportunity! One each of 2011 Dark Blossom Syrah and Grenache, 2010 Five Shooter Syrah and Grenache, and 2017 The Hated Hunter Syrah and The Gorgeous Victim Grenache

Straight from the personal wine cellar of Mary Celeste Beall, the Proprietor of the acclaimed resort hotels Blackberry Farm and Blackberry Mountain are these rare wines! Sine Qua Non’s winemaking journey began with passion, aiming to create exceptional wines that are globally cherished. Despite lofty ambitions, their inaugural 1994 vintage of Syrah, dubbed “Queen of Spades,” marked the start of a lifelong dedication. This success evolved into four vineyard sites, a dedicated team, and a global community of enthusiasts. While rooted in Rhone varietals, they embrace diversity, cultivating non-Rhone grapes like Petit Manseng and Touriga Nacional. Their commitment to quality and innovation rejects tradition, seeking to reflect California’s warmth and sunshine in every bottle. Each sip offers evolving experiences, inviting others to share in their love for winemaking and join their vinous family.

The 2011 Dark Blossom Grenache was awarded a substantial score of 97 by Robert Parker. It is described as possibly the finest Grenache-based blend of the vintage, comprising 75% Grenache, 12.5% Syrah, 11.5% Mourvedre, and a hint of Roussanne. This complex wine offers aromas of black raspberry, cassis, dried flowers, white pepper, and licorice, leading to a full-bodied and seamless palate. While it is tempting to enjoy now, its ample tannins suggest it will benefit from short-term cellaring. Parker predicts it will excel until 2029.

With an exceptional score of 99 by Robert Parker, the 2011 Dark Blossom Syrah blend, consisting of 84% Syrah, 8% Grenache, 4% Petite Sirah, and traces of Roussanne and Petite Manseng, exhibited remarkable improvement from barrel to bottle. Fermented with 17% whole clusters and aged in a combination of new and used French oak, it stands out as a shining success in the vintage. This full-bodied and concentrated Syrah boasts captivating aromatics of blackcurrants, Peking duck, pepper, licorice, and charcuterie. Despite the presence of tannins, they are described as sweet, polished, and without harsh edges. Parker suggests cellaring this beauty for 2-3 years for optimal enjoyment, with bottles expected to shine until 2031.

The 2010 Five Shooter Syrah was awarded a score of 98 by Robert Parker. This Syrah blend, comprising 85% Syrah, 5% Grenache, 3% Petite Sirah, 5% Roussanne, and 2% Viognier, is described as stunning. Despite its massive nature, it manages to maintain cohesion, presenting a captivating array of flavors including cassis, blackberry, white chocolate, underbrush, and pepper. This full-bodied Syrah exhibits abundant fine tannins and substantial depth, suggesting it has the potential to age gracefully for decades. Fermented with 20% whole cluster and aged for 22 months in 59% new French oak, it benefits from decanting if consumed in the near future. This wine is recommended for enjoyment between 2015 and 2030.

The 2010 Five Shooter Grenache blend, scoring 98 points by Robert Parker, is predominantly Grenache with Syrah, Mourvedre, Roussanne, and Viognier. Aged for 20 months, it exudes elegance and richness, featuring enticing aromas of red berries, floral notes, and spice. With a full-bodied palate, it promises graceful aging for up to two decades, recommended for enjoyment between 2015 and 2030.

Scoring a perfect 100 by Jeb Dunnuck and 98 by Robert Parker, the 2017 Hated Hunter Syrah is composed mainly of Syrah along with other varietals. Sourced from renowned vineyards and aged in French oak for about 23 months, it boasts a deep garnet-black hue and a complex nose of savory and earthy aromas. With limited production and a vintage label, this wine tells a captivating story alongside its Grenache counterpart, suggesting increased complexity with aging.

The final wine in this lot, the 2017 Gorgeous Victim Grenache, also scoring 98 points by Robert Parker, is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Petit Sirah, and Viognier sourced from various estates. Aged for approximately 23 months, it showcases a deep garnet-purple hue and a complex nose. With limited production and a vintage label, it shares a compelling narrative with its Syrah counterpart, promising a captivating experience.

It would be a sin to miss out on this Sine Qua Non opportunity! Bid now!

Two-time featured L’Amour du Vin winery Vineyard 7 & 8, was founded by the Steffens family in 1999 and named after proprietor Launny Steffens’ life and background in the world of finance with a theme encompassed by numerics, and a keen interest in numerology — “seven” being a number of luck in western culture, while “eight” follows the meanings of prosperity and happiness in eastern culture — Vineyard 7 & 8 is the culmination of the family’s pursuit for producing fine wines including 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Martha McClellan, winemaker for many notable brands, joined Vineyard 7 & 8 as Winemaker in 2014. Working alongside Associate Winemaker Wesley Steffens (Launny’s son and beloved friend to many longtime LDV patrons).  The winning bidder and up to three guests, are in for an incredibly special, private lunch and tasting at the winery’s estate atop Spring Mountain. The views from the tasting room are superb but will undoubtably be totally outdone by the quality of the wine pairings!

The 2019 Estate Chardonnay reflects the vineyard’s excellence, evoking memories of past classic vintages. Its appearance features a silvery green rim and a golden core, while aromas of tropical pineapple, lychee, and toasted honeycomb mingle with flinty notes. On the palate, it offers remarkable texture and integrated oak, harmonizing with flavors of lime, white pepper, and honeysuckle. This vintage boasts a lengthy finish and aging potential of 15 to 20 years. Awarded 94 to 96 points by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, it presents bold nuances of guava, peaches, and melon, culminating in a honey-nut finale. Hand-picked in September, the grapes underwent whole-cluster pressing and barrel fermentation with wild yeast, aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels. With an alcohol content of 14.2%, this vintage yielded 430 cases, showcasing the vibrant wines of the remarkable 2019 growing season.

The 2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon continues the success of the incredible 2018 vintage, showcasing a deep ruby red hue and a vibrant aromatic profile of red cherry, black licorice, red currant, and white pepper. Its palate offers a dense core of focused red fruits, black pepper, and espresso bean, with a fresh lift and structured tension leading to a lingering finish. Praised with a rating of 95 to 97 points by Antonio Galloni, this vintage promises excellent evolution over 20 years. Hand-picked at physiological ripeness in early to mid-October, the grapes underwent whole-berry fermentation in new French oak barrels, aging for 26 months. With a case production of 725, sourced entirely from the estate-grown fruit, this vintage reflects the vibrant and expressive wines of the 2019 growing season, characterized by copious rainfall and a warm, balanced summer.

Wesley and Martha promise that both wines included here will evolve in the cellar for years to come. These jeroboams are etched and hand-painted rare beauties from the Vineyard 7&8 library. Don’t miss the opportunity to take home this special collection, visit the winery, and show our appreciation to Wes and his parents for many years of amazing support! Bid!

You must schedule your lunch experience at least one month prior to your desired date. This allows the best opportunity to accommodate your request. Tastings are hosted Monday – Saturday, closed on Sunday’s.

Save us a SPOTT! at your Table and in your Cellar! Dinner for ten in your home with a highly regarded chef as well as a Spottswoode representative; PLUS two magnums [1.5L] of Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2020 and 2021.

This lot offers you the opportunity to bring Spottswoode Estate in Napa Valley to you! One or two representatives from Spottswoode Winery look forward to joining you and nine of your wine-loving friends in your home for a spectacular evening where Spottswoode brings wines from their cellar and host a dinner. With your input, Spottswoode will partner with a highly regarded chef in your area who shares the ethos of using fresh and local ingredients to create a dinner that pairs beautifully with the Spottswoode wines, which themselves are reflective of their time (vintage) and place – the vineyards’ soil, site, and climate. Being situated on the western edge of St. Helena in Napa Valley, the Spottswoode Estate terroir is ideal for winegrowing.

In addition to spending time with you in your home, this auction lot includes Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon magnums from the 2020 and 2021 vintages to add to your cellar.

The 2020 offers gorgeous red, blue, and black fruits as well as notes of tobacco, violets, and chalky mineral hints. It is medium to full-bodied, ripe and rich without being overbearing. It delivers concentrated black cherry and cassis fruit framed by supple, velvety-textured tannins. It has a long and outstanding finish. It is a beautiful and incredibly impressive wine that will evolve gracefully for two decades. In a blind tasting of a barrel sample, Robert Parker gave the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon an impressive 98-100 points. From the bottle the 2020 was highly rated by Jed Dunnuck 96 points, James Suckling 95-96 points, and Wine Spectator 95 points.

The 2021 was rated 96-98 by Jed Dunnuck, stating “The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate will be brilliant, and more in the line of the 2013, possibly the 2016. Deep purple-hued, with a classic Napa Valley Cabernet nose of ripe currants, cassis, graphite, and gravelly earth, this beauty hits the palate with medium to full body, a ripe, layered, concentrated mouthfeel, and building tannins. The overall profile here is one of elegance and class while still showing terrific ripeness.”

We invite you to experience Spottswoode as they share with you not only their wines, but their deep commitment to the highest level of stewardship of their community, people, and planet. Adopting organic farming practices in 1985, Spottswoode is certified organic, biodynamic and regenerative organic, and was the first winery in Napa Valley to become a B Corp. They are powered 100% by solar, are Gold Members of International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA), and members of 1% for the Planet since 2007. They are passionate about the natural environment, and operate in a manner to both help restore our climate, as well as to inspire others. Spottswoode finds deep meaning in this commitment to the planet, people and environment as they work to ensure the future of their multi-generational family winegrowing business.

Spottswoode looks forward to spending meaningful time with you! A mutually agreeable date may be established between Spottswoode and the winning bidder. Expires March 2, 2025.

Rare Opportunity!! Magnum [1.5L] Screaming Eagle 2019 The Flight Red Wine, Napa Valley

Screaming Eagle is a highly acclaimed winery located in the Oakville appellation of Napa Valley, California. It is renowned for producing some of the most sought-after and expensive wines in the world. Established in 1986 by Jean Phillips, the winery gained widespread recognition with its inaugural vintage in 1992, which received high praise from critics. Known for its limited production and meticulous attention to detail, the winery focuses primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon, often blended with small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Screaming Eagle wines consistently receive top scores from critics and have achieved cult status among wine enthusiasts and collectors. Despite its small size, Screaming Eagle’s wines command premium prices and have become highly coveted symbols of luxury and exclusivity in the wine world.

Screaming Eagle 2019, The Flight is a highly prized red wine produced by the vineyard. The Flight typically comprises a blend of Bordeaux varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, sourced from select vineyard sites in Oakville. Due to its limited production and high demand, acquiring a bottle of The Flight can be challenging, often taking many years on the waiting list to procure one bottle.

The 2019 vintage of The Flight has received high praise from both James Suckling and Jeb Dunnuck. Suckling awarded it an impressive score of 99 points, noting its exceptionally floral and aromatic character, with prominent notes of violets, lavender, and black olives. The wine, composed of about two-thirds Merlot, displays medium to full body and features firm, finely grained tannins that stretch seamlessly across the palate. Dunnuck, with a score of 94 points, highlights its enchanting perfume of red cherries, raspberries, and flowers. The Flight exhibits finesse, elegance, and a lively style, with well-integrated tannins and a harmonious balance between richness and freshness. Both critics suggest that while the wine is already stunning, it will further improve with a few years of bottle aging and has the potential for long-term cellaring, best enjoyed after 2028.

Act now to add this unique gem to your collection!

Magnolia Triptych – Oil on Canvas 24”H x 32”W x 1”D : a series of paintings of this Native American flower. Each one depicts the magnolia blossom in a different state of unfurling, by artist John Woodrow Kelley.

John Woodrow Kelley, born in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1952, stands as a prominent figure in the realm of representational art, celebrated for his captivating mythological scenes and portraiture. Rooted in a profound connection to the classical tradition, Kelley’s artistic journey commenced with a transformative visit to the Greek Parthenon in Nashville at the tender age of six.

Driven by a quest to reinvigorate Western art through a contemporary lens, Kelley draws inspiration from Greek mythology and the techniques of old masters like Diego Velázquez and Caravaggio. His oil paintings stand as a testament to his rejection of the perceived vacuity of abstract expressionism and modernism, with a deliberate emphasis on classical realism and the enduring beauty of the human form.

Kelley’s academic journey led him to acquire a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a Master of Arts degree in architecture from the Pratt Institute in New York. Departing from a two-year stint at the Davis & Brody architectural firm, he immersed himself in the world of painting and drawing at the Art Students League of New York and the New York Academy of Art. Under the guidance of Ted Seth Jacobs, a distinguished classical realist, Kelley honed his skills in accurate drawing and the study of anatomy.

Recently settling in West Knoxville, Kelley’s artistic contributions extend beyond his personal studio. As a former fellow and drawing instructor at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art and the Morgan Library & Museum in New York, he actively engages in the cultivation of artistic talent. His body of work has achieved international recognition, showcased in solo exhibitions such as the 2004 display at The Parthenon in Nashville, Tennessee, and group exhibitions at esteemed venues, including the John Pence Gallery in San Francisco, the Fischbach Gallery in New York, and Pandora Old Masters in Milan, Italy.

Kelley’s artistry has earned him prestigious commissions from institutions like the Morgan Library, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and Yale University. In 2014, a monograph titled “Greek Mythology Now” was published, offering a comprehensive exploration of his artistic evolution and thematic exploration.

Now is your opportunity to bring home John Woodrow Kelley’s magnolia triptych!

This evening will feature 24 bottles [750mL] of Aubert Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, four each: UV-SL Vineyard 2021 Chardonnay, Powder House 2021 Chardonnay, UV-SL Vineyard 2021 Pinot Noir, CIX 2021 Pinot Noir. UV Vineyard 2021 Pinot Noir, and 2022 Pinot Noir.

The vinous star of the evening will shine on Aubert Wines, founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000. Mark Aubert, with prior winemaking experience at renowned estates like Colgin Cellars, Peter Michael Winery, and as a consultant for esteemed wineries such as Sloan and Bryant Family, established his own winery after working with premium fruit sources. Aubert’s vineyard, UV-SL, named after the late Ulises Valdez Sr., encompasses 3.2 acres in Sonoma, situated just six miles from the Pacific Ocean. Collaborating with Valdez Sr. 15 years ago, they planted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines in this coastal-influenced site. With Aubert’s impressive background, you can see how the wine ratings are noteworthy.

The 2021 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay from UV-SL Vineyard, rated 99 by James Suckling and 98 by Robert Parker, emerges from the Goldridge soils owned by the Valdez family, paying homage to the esteemed Ulises Valdez. With a limited production of 2,000 cases, this Chardonnay reveals nuanced notes of toasted hazelnuts, white peaches, and vibrant citrus zest, striking a balance between opulence and restraint in its full-bodied profile. Also highly rated, the 2021 Powder House Chardonnay was rated 97 by Robert Parker and James Suckling.  The 2021 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir from UV-SL Vineyard garners a stellar rating of 96 by Robert Parker, 96 by Wine Spectator, and 98 by James Suckling, originating from the vineyard’s close proximity to Occidental and its significant volcanic soil influence. The 2021 Pinot Noir CIX was rated 98 by James Suckling, 96 by Wine Spectator, and 95 by Robert Parker.  With only 1,200 cases crafted, this Pinot Noir offers an intricate tapestry of alpine strawberries and garrigue-like hints, marrying generosity with finesse through its voluminous, silky tannins and enduring length on the palate. Furthermore, the 2021 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir from UV Vineyard was rated 97 by James Suckling, 95 by Wine Spectator, and 94 by Robert Parker. This wine showcases the terroir’s unique clay composition, boasting fragrant aromatics and a luxurious texture. With a robust flavor profile featuring wild strawberry, blackberry, and red plum, complemented by floral notes of violets and lavender, this Pinot Noir exhibits a harmonious balance of earthy undertones and supple tannins, suggesting an optimal drinking window from 2024 to 2036. Finally, the Sonoma Coast 2022 Pinot Noir by Aubert embarks on a new journey, sourced from their latest Estate Vineyard in Sebastopol. Benefiting from drought-influenced conditions, this vintage captivates with its array of aromas, including crushed raspberry, cherry oil, tangerine zest, and rooibos tea, culminating in a lingering finish that echoes the region’s distinctive terroir, promising a delightful wine experience.

These Aubert wines will be perfectly paired with a menu prepared by Bistro by the Tracks, which is known for its exceptional culinary offerings and impeccable standards. Three-Night Stay for 3 Couples at the DANA Estates Crystal House; including lunch and tour for six at the winery estate; PLUS golf for 6 guests at either Mayacama or Silverado Country Club and Concierge service to book restaurant reservations or additional winery tastings.

Nestled at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains, DANA Estates is one of Napa’s most desirable boutique wineries and among one of Napa’s newest wave of iconic cult-wine producers. Pronounced “da-nuh,” the winery’s namesake means ‘spirit of generosity’ in the classical South Asia language Sanskrit. It is in this spirit that proprietors Hi Sang Lee and Jae Chun share a profound appreciation for the legacy of the estate and the vintners who worked the land for generations, blending history and tradition with cutting-edge vineyard management, a new state-of-the-art winery, and artisanal winemaking.

Philippe Melka, among a handful of superstars responsible for cult wines, has been the consulting winemaker since the inaugural vintage. Along with Cameron Vawter, they have long delivered a series of successful DANA wines – and high scores – performing exceptionally well in blind tastings, winning out against a number of cult pioneers. The winery is dedicated to producing distinctive, world-class, and age-worthy wines from three very small production estate properties – Helms Vineyard (Rutherford), Hershey Vineyard (Howell Mountain), and Lotus Vineyard (Howell Mountain) – each known for their precision, purity, freshness, balance, and expression of place.

Lee, a longtime lover and collector of Napa Valley wine, spared no effort to create the perfect wine estate when it was founded in 2005. His motto “plus one” and desire to be the best are evident in all aspects of the estate. The winery occupies land in the heart of famed Rutherford Bench, where Helms is grown, and is housed in an exquisite reenvisioning of a once-ruined 1883 ghost winery (stone wineries built before prohibition). The winery was re-designed by renowned architect Howard Backen (who also designed Poetry Inn and Harlan Estate) preserving the original stone walls as its centerpiece. After all the renovations, the old ghost winery is now a beautiful blend of history and sophisticated elegance with clean, modern lines and subtle Asian influences.

At this staggeringly beautiful estate, you and your guests will spend three nights in DANA Estates’ exceptional Crystal House (off Silverado Trail just below Lotus Vineyard on Howell Mountain). The contemporary home features an infinity pool, chef’s kitchen, fireplace, expansive lounging spaces, and sweeping views of surrounding vineyards and olive groves; a beautiful place to rest and play over the course of your stay. During your time in Napa, DANA Estates will host you and your guests for a private tour and tasting at the winery followed by a private lunch with special wines being poured throughout the afternoon.

The fun doesn’t stop there. You and 5 guests will enjoy golfing at either Mayacama or Silverado Country Club. Mayacama Golf Club is a prestigious private golf club located in Santa Rosa, California. Mayacama in Sonoma County offers an exceptional golfing experience amidst stunning natural surroundings. Silverado Country Club features two courses: the North Course, home to the PGA Tour’s Safeway Open and ranked among Golfweek Magazine’s Top 150 Resort Courses, and the South Course, perfect for a more relaxed round. With rolling elevations, manicured greens, and century-old oak groves, it’s an ideal destination for golfers of all levels to enjoy.

This lot also includes concierge service to book restaurant reservations or additional winery tastings.

In summary, taste some of the world’s most expensive, super-premium wines; stay in exquisite accommodations; and indulge in private winery experiences – WOW. An incredible offering certainly in the ‘spirit of generosity’ from our friends at DANA Estates.

Non-transferable. Mutually agreeable date; must be redeemed by March 4, 2025.

Michael Browne, a guest vintner at L’Amour du Vin in 2015, shared his Kosta Browne and CIRQ Pinot Noirs, and he continues his dedication to producing fine Pinot Noirs with CIRQ. Estate and CHEV.  Michael has always concentrated on one wine, the ultimate expression of Pinot Noir.  His unwavering dedication led him to launch Kosta Browne, and now he and his wife, Sarah, have realized their dream of owning their own winery.

Browne Family Wines are produced in the Russian River Valley, where there are more soil types than all of France.  With so many extraordinary sites, it’s like an artist’s palette for a winemaker, where all the raw, earthy elements come together deep in the soil to give the vines flavor and life.  Perfect for Pinot Noir growing.

The 2013 library vintage CIRQ Pinot Noir, Treehouse Vineyard, was rated 97 points by Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate, commenting “Its deep ruby color is followed by to-die-for notes of black raspberries, crushed violets, cassis, spice, and toasted bread. Utterly perfect on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, an ethereal, seamless, multi-dimensional texture, fine tannin and a crazy length”.

CIRQ tasting notes on the 2013 CIRQ Pinot Noir, Treehouse: Has aromas of red fruits and baked pie.  Cranberry, Cherries, dark plum, and ripe rhubarb combine with cedar box, wild fennel, and spice. Savory notes of sage and wild herbs.  Flavors of ripe Bing cherry and baked blackberry pie fill the palate.  Intense and pretty at the same time.  Sweet oak and baking spice play a supporting role to the fruit.  It is explosive with mouthwatering acidity.  Youthful and grippy tannins saturate the palate to give immense length and a captivating dry finish.  It is a hard-to-forget wine.

The 2018 CIRQ Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley was rated 97 points by Jed Dunnuck commenting “The 2018 Pinot Noir sports a medium ruby, plum, almost opaque hue as well as a killer bouquet of ripe black raspberries, redcurrants, roasted herbs, loamy earth, and sandalwood. Rich, almost full-bodied, and beautifully textured, with silky, polished tannins, this is another rock star of a Pinot Noir from Michael Browne that will deliver the goods over the coming 7-8 years, probably longer, although I have no idea why you would delay gratification!”

The 2018 CHEV Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley was rated 96 points by Jeb Dunnuck, commenting “Lots of ripe red and darker berry fruits as well as notes of iron, sagebrush, and earthy, foresty notes emerge from the 2018 Pinot Noir, a rich, medium to full-bodied beauty that has a great mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and enough structure to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and keep for a decade. This is a meaty, almost bloody Pinot Noir with loads of character.”

Wine Enthusiast rated the 2018 CHEV Pinot Noir 95 points, commenting, “This opulent wine is jam-packed with red- and black-fruit flavors on a polished, broad and mouthfilling texture that gradually releases red-cherry, black-cherry, raspberry and rhubarb flavors, while boosting meaty, savory, forest-floor notes as well. A full body, ultrasmooth tannins and a touch of tangy fruit acidity bring it into good balance, too.” — Jim Gordon

The 2018 CHEV was also rated 94 points by Vinous and 93 points by Robert Parker.

Four lucky guests will enjoy an exclusive private tour and tasting experience at Browne Family Wines, the home of CIRQ. Estate and CHEV, nestled in the heart of the Russian River Valley.  The winning bidder will also receive priority access to their allocation lists.

Tour and tasting experience to be redeemed on a mutually agreeable date and time, contingent upon availability.

Mark Herold Wines:  Three bottles [750mL] Mark Herold Cabernet Sauvignons:  2019 Stagecoach, 2019 Coombsville, and the 2021 Oakville Ranch.  Also, a tasting at their downtown Napa Tasting Lounge.

The 2019 Stagecoach is a blockbuster with an inky black-purple color and powerful, layered fruit.  It delivers an array of fruit aromas with crème-de-cassis, blackberry pie, graphite, black licorice, tobacco leaf, and crushed rocks. Underlying are notes of chocolate, soy, black cardamom, violets, and chaparral brush. Flavors are seamless, but vividly showcases the fruit. Tannins are velvety and abundant but discreetly concealed by the wine’s extract and plushness.  Drinks deliciously now and over the next 15-plus years!

The 2019 Coombsville Cabernet is an inky black/purple with layered aromas of roasted blackberries, ripe black cherries, dusty plums, graphite, creamy minerals, and violets, plus subtle notes of suede leather, chocolate, and black cardamom. The tannins are abundant but soft, turning velvety toward a long persistent finish. Drink now or over the next 20 years.  Antonio Galloni rated 96 points.

The 2021 Oakville Ranch dazzles of blackberries, black raspberries, pomegranates and crushed rock, and followed by notes of fresh suede, gridded almonds and chaparral.  The delightful dark fruits, exotic spice and delicate minerality bring this wine into a symphony of power, elegance and balance from start to finish.  Decant to enjoy now.  It will evolve beautifully in the cellar over the next 20 years.

Kamen Estate Wines: Three bottles [750mL] Moon Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignons: 2019 and 2020 Cabernets, and the Lava Block 2019 Cabernet.  Plus, a vineyard tasting with Cheese and Charcuterie paired with 4 Kamen wines.  The aromatics of the Lava Block 2019 are intense and layered with minerality throughout its time in the glass.  Blackberry pic, black currants, crème de cassis, black cherries, tobacco leaf, violet, and crushed rock rush to the forefront, and secondary aromas of suede, cocoa, and pencil lead.  Elegant and sophisticated flavors.  Generous and balanced with a fully integrated tannin structure.  Wine Spectator rated 95 points.
